Summary

STARTING OVER SUCKS

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbour, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

AND THEN HE OPENED HIS MOUTH

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks Daemon and me literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpectedly happens.

Review

I love this book! The concept of this story is original and well managed. It is a book that change of vampire or werewolf and others story.

The main character’s daily life is the base of the story, so it has emphasised the feeling that we are the main character and have more empathy with the events she goes through. We all have lived this kind of situation (moving to a new city, new home, etc.) so we are since the beginning deep down the story. The author masters the universe as the paranormal is introduced throughout the book but still have its surprise effect during the explanations. The implementation of the love story is funny and genuine, sometimes in books, it is like a fairytale but not in this book, and it is refreshing.

Afterwards, the characters make the story with the link between them, their personality. We have the main character, Katy, who is not the damsel in distress and go in front of the event even if they are bad. She stands up in front of Deamon who can be, in this book, really stab-worthy. The second character is Deamon, and he is annoying, and at the same time, he is funny in his interactions with Katy. We can feel that he just wants to protect her, but at the same time, he intends to be with her, so he tries to make some compromise with himself. For the others characters, some are kind, some are bad, but few of them are so so, we do not know which side they are.

There is a right balance between the beginning of the story and the intense moment.

Conclusion: It is easy to book to read, we are quickly into it, and we just want to know what’s going on.
